Brian O’Neill’s Charity Walk for Alzheimer’s UK
At James Lynch & Sons (Transport) Limited we encourage our staff to challenge themselves by raising money for their favourite charities and we always donate to help them smash their targets.
So the story goes for our driver, Brian O’Neill!
Usually, you’ll find Brian wending his merry way around the motorways of the UK delivering that much needed chemical.
Brian decided to swap the comfort of his cab and the beautiful scenery of the British Isles for a day stretching his legs for a worthy cause.
The charity close to Brian’s heart is Alzheimer’s UK, a cause we are proud to support.
Brian replaced his steel toe capped boots for walking shoes and with his merry team made up of his lovely wife, Lisa, his niece and her husband walked 13 miles around Dalemain Mansion and Historic Garden located in the beautiful lake District. Dalemain Mansion is situated on Allswater lake surrounded by the powerful Aira Force waterfall.
Brian, Lisa and his family raised over £700.00 for the charity which will support the on-going care provided. £15.00 pays for a friendly call to someone alone and isolated, £30.00 helps fund the vital research helping to improve the lives of those living with this disease and £60.00 pays for a Dementia Adviser to provide support for half a day.
You will agree that every penny raised is so important to this vital work.
You can see from Brian’s smile that he thoroughly enjoyed himself supporting this worthy cause, but no fear, he’s not hanging up his keys and hard hat just yet. We have a sneaky feeling that this won’t be the last we see of Brians charitable endeavours.
