Darren Bailey – Chief Executive and Director

Darren is our Chief Executive and Director and has been with us for the last seven years.

His role oversees everything from sales and marketing to customer relations and compliance.

Before he joined us, he was a recruitment consultant and his favourite part of the job is the fact that it’s a family run firm that genuinely cares about its workforce and its customers.

Darren supports Manchester United and also plays football himself. If he was down to his last £50, he would spend it on a week’s worth of pizza!

Rebecca Edwards – Director of Finance

Rebecca is our Director of Finance.

As part of her role Rebecca oversees anything finance, HR, or risk assessment related.

She joined us as a full-time member of staff in 2007, as an Accounts Administrator.

Rebecca supported the team with the purchase and sales ledgers and also studied to become a qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

She is married with a teenager and loves the variety of her job, although her eighteen-year-old self would have laughed if someone had told her, that she would eventually love working with lorries.

If she was down to her last £50 Rebecca would take her family for a Chinese banquet.

Mark Owen – Fleet Manager

Mark is our Fleet Manager.

He has worked on the same site for the last 24 years since he was just sixteen years old.

His role involves anything and everything to do with our fleet from tank testing and MOT’s to fleet maintenance and compliance.

In his spare time, he likes playing football and going mountain biking. He’s also a Port Vale fan and if he was down to his last £50, he’d spend it on watching a match with his brother and catching up over a few beers.

Greg Steele – Transport Manager

Meet Greg – he is our Transport Manager.

Greg’s been with the company for the last ten years and is the main point of contact for our drivers.

He organises and plans the routes ensuring maximum efficiency and is also responsible for resolving any transport related problems.

Greg’s always worked in transport planning and was with Tesco for 12 years.

He loves Crewe Alexandra Football Club and is a season ticket holder. If he was down to his last £50, he’d spend it on going to watch Crewe play away somewhere.

Andy Bailey – Transport Supervisor

Andy joined us just under a year ago and is our Transport Supervisor.

Working closely with Greg, Andy’s key responsibilities include transport planning, driver liaison and supporting customers.

He’s spent his whole career in the haulage industry, although at school he wanted to be a footballer.

Married with a baby, Andy still loves playing football and is a Manchester United fan.

If he was down to his last £50, he’d put the money towards a family day out to somewhere like Harry Potter World.

Ian Parker – Driver Trainer

Ian Parker is our Driver Trainer.

The married father of two joined the company eight years ago but only recently took up the newly created role.

He is responsible for inducting new drivers, ensuring the safety aspects are met. For example, ADR Driver Compliance and driver training and safety requirements are all part of the role.

Ian has introduced a full induction and driving training programme which has already started but will be fully rolled out in 2021.

A qualified HGV driver himself with more than 25 years driving experience, Ian says he always loved the freedom of being on the road and knew at the age of 14 that he wanted to be a lorry driver.

Ian says he’s doing his dream job and having a good family life, with a job he enjoys and a nice house and car is what life’s all about.
