Marathon Victory for Amy Denton
You must have heard the cheers far and wide when our very own Amy Denton completed her first half marathon, (that’s 13 miles you know!) at Oulton Park on Sunday 24th November.

Over the years, James Lynch Transport has donated to a variety of different charities. None more important than the mental health and wellbeing campaign, Ocean Empowered. This much needed campaign will help raise awareness of mental health challenges and how we can be empowered to overcome them.
Our red, white and blue livery has been the company colours for many decades and what a striking figure we do make on the road of Britain, Ireland and Europe. We are always very proud to welcome new equipment to our ever-expanding fleet and these two new Volvo units are no exception.

My role is to track all drivers, ensuring they are where they are meant to be or at least making good time on their way. I liaise with customers for any foreseen issues and talk with our garage staff to account for any trucks or tanks that need to come off the road.
I then plan the drivers work for the following day ensuring customers booking slots are achieved.
What’s the favourite part of your job?

It is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to a much-loved member of the James Lynch family recently.
Our Transport Manager Greg Steele, who had been a huge part of our team for the last 11 years passed away in August after bravely battling a short illness.
Greg was a kind, happy, integral part of our family who we will forever remembered for his wonderful personality, his love of all things Crewe Alex and for being so good at his job.
We were among the mourners at his funeral at Bradwell Crematorium, which more than 200 people attended wearing football kits, Hawaiian shirts and colourful clothes to pay tribute to Greg – in true Greg style. It was a beautiful service – with some of his favourite songs played including: ‘Blue Moon,’ by the Marcels, ‘All These Things That I’ve Done,’ by the Killers and ‘Shiny, Happy People,’ by REM.
We have never seen a service so packed and would like to thank all of our customers who took the time out to attend – it was very much appreciated.
We know one person was asked by a passer-by if the service was for someone famous because they had never seen so many people there before. That was testament to our Greg.
We wanted to do something special for Greg to show that he will never be forgotten – so we’ve named one of our tractor units after him so that he will always be with us on the road. It was parked near the service so his family could see it as a mark of respect.
Greg – thank you for always making us smile. The world and the James Lynch office won’t be as bright without you in it. Our thoughts continue to be with you, your family and friends.
We have a fantastic team here at James Lynch.
That was demonstrated recently by one of our drivers who selflessly acted to protect other road users.
Will Mountford unfortunately witnessed an accident involving a van and car on a main A-road. It saw the car spin and hit the central reservation.
Will was behind the accident, saw it happen and maneuvered his truck to shield the car and its driver from oncoming traffic.
The police saw his dashcam footage and praised him for being such a responsible driver.
We wanted to say a big thank you too to Will for being so responsible, acknowledge his professionalism and say we’re proud of him for putting others before himself and helping to keep other motorists safe.
You’d be right if you think he looks familiar.
We’re delighted to announced that Mark Owen, our existing Fleet Manager has been promoted to Company Director.
Mark has worked on the same site with us for 25-years-old since he was just sixteen years old.
Over that time, he has built up a wealth of experience and knows our company as well as our industry inside out. His new role will see Mark overseeing the running of the company on a day-to-day basis.
He said: “I am thrilled to have been promoted to Company Director. We have a fantastic team at James Lynch, and I am proud to be part of it. I’m looking forward to my new role and helping to grow the business further.
In his spare time, Mark likes playing football, watching Port Vale, and going mountain biking.
